About Vivi Jo

VIVIAN JOSEPHINE XINHUA

Born: December 29, 2003

Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province,
The Peoples Republic of China

Vivi Jo waits . . .

We hold on to hope found in photos,
We long to touch her sweet face.

We eat and sleep and breathe worlds apart,
Yet there is a bond . . . a bond created by God.

She is ours and we are hers,
And in time the wait will be over. . .

We will eat and sleep and breathe together,
We will love and laugh and grow together.

And the bond that held us over the seas,
Will grow daily . . .

When the “wait” is over.

What’s In a Name?
Paul and I have always liked the idea of using family names and names with a good meaning. We both love old names and we really wanted a name that is not commonly used. Vivian Josephine Xinhua has it all! Although we love her complete name we will probably call her Vivi or Vivi Jo most of the time. Paul's Gramma's name was Una Vivian, she was not fond of Una so she went by Vivian. Paul loved her so much and was very close to her. In her later years she lived with his family in an apartment that was attached to their house. Everyday after school until bedtime he would spend with her. She had a kind and caring heart, she loved the Lord and showed His love to everyone she met. Paul knew that every Friday when he came home from school there would be something special baking in the oven that she made just for him, usually his favorite, homemade cinnamon rolls. He has many wonderful memories with her. My Nanny's name was Mary Josephine and like Paul's Gramma she didn't care for Mary and went by her middle name Josephine and shortened it to Jo. My Nanny was the sweetest, kindness, and most loving person I have ever known. She ALWAYS had a smile on her face. She loved the Lord so much and was a mighty prayer warrior. She kept her family covered in prayer. I have so many wonderful and treasured memories with her!! I would spend the night with her often, we would lay in bed at night and I would fall asleep while she sang to me or while she told me stories of when she was a little girl. Oh, how I loved to hear those stories over and over. She was my best friend, and I loved her so much!! How blessed our daughter will be, to be given the name Vivian Josephine, after two precious, godly ladies that Paul and I loved so dearly.

We will tell Vivi Jo as she grows up how special her name is and that we loved her so much that we gave her the names of two of the most precious ladies that ever lived.
